Passion

One of my favorite quotes are: "If a child cannot learn in the way we teach, we must teach in the way the child learns." -unknown.
I love this saying because a most of the time educators teach in one way not catering to the learning style of the child. Every child doesn't learn at the same pace and same way. We as educators have to find the unique way a student learn and teach in a unique way.

I chose this drawing because to me parents are the number one role model in children lives. Babies and toddlers learn essential and basic skill from their parents before starting school. Parents play a very important role in young children lives because they are children first teachers.

A story of a child that touched my heart:
I was a teacher assistant and this one particular child took a liking to me. She wouldn't talk and respond to the lead teacher. She was a struggling student and never brought back any homework. One day I ask the child, "Why you never bring any homework back?" The child simply replied, "I don't have anyone at home to help me." I begin helping her with her homework at school. I would tutor her one-on-one  daily. By the time the end of the school year came the child was reading on grade leave and her grades had improved tremendously. This story touches my heart because sometime it not the students fault that they are not succeeding. Some students just truly have nobody to help them or motivate them to succeed.
